MIC DROP LIP SYNC CONCERT HEADLINERS: NEW EDITION AND FRIENDS

From the Creators of GCODE Comes One of the Most Anticipated Nights of the Year:

The Mic Drop Lip Sync Concert

Pensacola families, mark your calendars.

The Lamplighters are bringing back the energy in a major way with the Mic Drop Lip Sync Concert. This immersive, high-production experience blends performance, nostalgia, and community into one unforgettable night.

This is not a traditional concert. It’s not a step show. It’s a fully produced stage experience where choreography, coordinated wardrobe, dynamic lighting, and crowd participation come together in perfect rhythm.

And the audience isn’t just watching — they’re part of the show.

Lip sync concerts are built around sing-alongs. That means when the music starts, the room comes alive. Every hook. Every harmony. Every timeless chorus becomes a shared moment across generations. Parents will recognize the classics. Students will feel the energy. And together, the crowd becomes the soundtrack.

So come ready. Know the lyrics. Be prepared to sing along.

Because host Chris Wooten will keep the energy high — and at any moment, he just might drop the mic to the crowd.

Headlining Tribute: New Edition and Friends

This year’s featured performance, New Edition and Friends, celebrates the era that defined modern R&B and shaped the soundtrack of so many lives.

Expect polished group choreography, iconic harmonies, and timeless hits that continue to resonate decades later. The tribute will also include a special farewell salute to the Class of 2026, along with a highly anticipated surprise appearance featuring the Future Light Team.

And when we say “and Friends,” there are hints to watch for.

Will the smooth harmonies reflect the influence of Boyz II Men?

Will there be high-energy moments inspired by Bell Biv DeVoe?

Could there be a nod to the youthful spark of Another Bad Creation?

And which other artists from that unforgettable era might make their way into the set?

The only way to know is to be in the building.

A Night for the Entire Community

Beyond the headlining tribute, Mic Drop will showcase performances from Lamp Academy, Junior Lamplighters, and featured community groups ready to bring their creativity and pride to the stage.

This event is designed with families in mind — a celebration of culture, excellence, and shared memories. It’s a reminder of how music connects generations and how community brings it all together.

With spring break around the corner, there’s no better way to kick off the season.

Tickets are available now. See any Lamplighters staff member or family representative to secure yours. Proceeds from our event will benefit the class of 2026 Senior Scholarships.
